El etiquetado del cableado estructurado en el data center es una pr\u00e1ctica fundamental para poder garantizar el correcto mantenimiento del data center y la gesti\u00f3n adecuada de las aver\u00edas. Es, adem\u00e1s, un requisito de obligatorio cumplimiento establecido en las normas de cableado.\u00a0\"Etiquetado<\/a><\/p>\n

Si bien es cierto que todas las normas hacen referencia a la obligatoriedad del etiquetado, la norma ISO\/IEC 14763-1 y la norma EN 50174-1 dejan libertad al instalador para realizar el etiquetado del cableado en el data center siguiendo su propio criterio.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, la norma TIA\/EIA 606-A va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 que las anteriores y establece reglas muy \u00fatiles para realizar el etiquetado, estableciendo c\u00f3digos que permiten identificar con facilidad la ubicaci\u00f3n exacta de cualquier cable. En la norma se establece la codificaci\u00f3n, teniendo en cuenta los diferentes tipos de data center, atendiendo a su tama\u00f1o y su ubicaci\u00f3n en un \u00fanico lugar de un edificio, en varias plantas o en diferentes edificios.<\/p>\n

La propuesta de c\u00f3digos que realiza esta norma es muy intuitiva y est\u00e1 perfectamente detallada en el texto que la configura.<\/p>\n

La norma tambi\u00e9n establece la posibilidad de utilizar una codificaci\u00f3n de colores complementaria que hace que el proceso de identificaci\u00f3n sea m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido.
\nEs importante utilizar etiquetas de calidad y resistentes y ubicarlas en lugares visibles, en el extremo final del cable.<\/p>\n

En el caso de que no se siga esta norma, lo realmente esencial es realizar una codificaci\u00f3n clara y asegurarse de que todos los elementos que constituyen el cableado est\u00e9n convenientemente registrados en una base de datos, incluyendo todas las conexiones.<\/p>\n

No es necesario que la base de datos sea una aplicaci\u00f3n compleja, sobre todo si el data center no es de gran tama\u00f1o, pero lo que s\u00ed es imprescindible es mantenerla convenientemente actualizada. Tambi\u00e9n suele resultar muy \u00fatil mantener un documento de texto en el que se justifiquen todos los cambios o sustituciones realizadas en el cableado o en cualquiera de los componentes.
